Little Wandle for Phonics
Each day Reception children are involved in phonics sessions and continuous provision activities that introduce and develop phonological awareness. Through these sessions children are able to learn and recognise early sounds and are taught skills to blend these sounds into words.Little Wandle for Phonics
Our phonics scheme is “Little Wandle.”
Little Wandle Letters has been built around the updated (Letters and Sounds improving rates of progress 2021 document) and draws on the excellent practice in a number of schools across the country.
This complete phonics programme also draws on the latest research into how children learn best; how to ensure learning stays in children’s long term memory and how best to enable children to apply their learning to become highly competent readers.
